I agree wholeheartedly on platforming progressives and them being the leadership we need. From what Ive seen here the last few weeks and months people get really worked up about particular candidates elected officials. Yesterday Pritzger, lots of Newsome, etc I dont think anyone backed backed by AIPAC should be platformed but its not up to me. When I voice my opposition its causes a breach in community cohesion and its not something we should waste our energy sorting out at this time. Its a distraction. If it was one of them saying take to the streets with me, lets do this and not stop until its done, well thats different. Thats the leadership we need. I believe the movement is missing clarity of purpose and lacking direct action. Look up General Strike throughout the world, when its done it works 100% of the time. We have a community of over 300k people who care and want to be a catalyst for change. The protests can only be so effective. No Kings in particular showed we have enough people who care and want something to shift. Until there’s actionable steps articulated and implemented people are being keyboard activists and quite often that leads to a divide. We don’t need to get caught up in that discerning who needs to be elected, we need leaders to be leaders in the moment. Not next year or three years from now.
