That is why I wrote a well chosen, spouse. It is the only you get more and better relatives ( again, well chosen ). I had 1 coworker who complained he had nobody to talk to, or vent to. He had friends, but they had jobs and families to take care of. They were already stressed with their own burdens. They would listen to him for a little bit, but not for long. Their capacities were limited. I had another coworker, same job, who had a solid marriage. He said he would go home and “off load” to his wife. He did the same for her. His emotional health was much better, IMHO, having someone who cared about him who would listen to him. His family, was her family, they had bonds. With her he wasn’t getting on the phone to try to talk to a friend who was already dealing with the demands of his own family and his own job. I imagine his wife wasn’t always in the mood, but she would make time for him to talk to her.
