Trump doesnt care about the long term. He wants to maximize the short term gains, then unload the mess he creates on someone else. Hes the type of person to red line an engine until it explodes just so he can claim he went faster than anybody else, and that the engine exploding is someone elses fault and not his, he had the best speed ever.
