You got me thinking (weird, I know), and how I guess the most modern version of this would be Westborough Baptists. Literally everyone cannot stand those people, and they thrive on it. But Fred Phelps is long dead now, amen, and I don’t think we have heard much from them since. Seems to me that the ones still left in the Church all kinda subscribe a to bit of their insanity now. My mom still attends Mass, even if just through tv now, and is an educated, rational person. At the same time, she was talking about how litter boxes are now required in schools not that long ago, so I wonder if she’s secretly listening to total garbage, or if that’s a sign of her mind starting to go and remembering the propaganda she was fed during the pandemic (I think that’s the last time we heard about that nonsense, right?). It’s honestly bizarre. Guess we’ll see.
