Similar vein: virtually every true Republican I know has no faith in Bo French or most of the county “leadership.” They know one decent candidate who’s slightly left of center, or slightly right of center but believes 1-2 liberal things, can win here pretty easily.

I guess I am still waiting for the official announcement. There was a rumor for 12 seconds that he was gonna run against Mattie. I thought that would have been pure comedy gold. He would have kept calling her “woke” and “all hat, no cattle.” It would seem close. She would bring out his ex-wife at an event to read a letter. The rich overlords would be torn on which way to go. I had a bag of popcorn ready. Alas, it doesn’t seem we’ll see that one.

The permitting process for a facility in FTW is not sexy. While no doubt they have good money and access to more, they need enemies and fights to drum up more fundraising. The city rolled for them, they beat Oakhurst, so there isn’t a logical enemy to drum up money from the base. So (checks notes) how about (checks again) the LIBERAL LUNATICS ON REDDIT?!??!?!

In that case it’s probably (just spit-balling) that he is deeply distressed by his own sense of self and maybe feels something is “wrong” with him, so he lashes out at people who give visual indicators that maybe they don’t like men. Because if he has to be miserable, shouldn’t other people who pursue same-sex relationships be miserable? Again, I dunno him well. I’ve talked to him at three events in my life. He’s just got so much hate, and puts it so readily on display, that I wonder like… what is going on? And why don’t others around here denounce guys like him?

Wait until crypto takes off… The thing with these guys is they go insane about “woke,” but aside from Pelosi and Schumer dancing in African garb or a couple of purple-haired women showing up at 2020 School Board meetings, they can’t define it. The default definition is “anything Big Don doesn’t like.” They called Oakhurst woke about 129 times during that fight. Oakhurst had some Harris/Walz signs, but had more Trump/Vance. I think if you do it by precinct vote, Oakhurst was 58% Trump in ’24, and higher in ’16. But they all loved to come for how “woke” everyone there was… which, again, what does it mean? “A person you disagree with” and/or “a person Donald Trump has called out.” It has no other real definitions anymore.

Just owning the libs. That’s been the platform since probably 2017. Bo is good at it on some topics, and Tarrant has “stayed red” despite notable issues in that narrative like Biden winning inside 820 and Allred winning … if you took away Northeast Tarrant County, it would be a purplish-red mix that went blue outright in some elections. If you took away people over 65 in NE Tarrant County, Bo and co. have a lot less to stand on. That said, the Tarrant/FTW Democrats community is admittedly a joke too. But at least they periodically discuss actual issues.

I think it’s around maybe 12:00 or 15:00. In there. Basically, when the whole “woke pastor lectured Trump!” thing happened on Inauguration Day, someone took a screenshot of Penate blasting her — and remember, his church is literally named “Mercy” and she was saying to Trump, “Hey, maybe have some mercy for the less-fortunate” — and it had over 500 comments. I think it was the top post on here for 1.5 days. In this video, he says that someone sent it to him and then he accuses “the liberal lunatics of Reddit” of coming for him. Nate S. then says “They probably pre-populated that post BEFORE the election!” Yes, Nate. Because we knew what a bishop would say on November 5th. So then they go back and forth about far left lunatics in Fort Worth for a while. It’s standard script, but I hadn’t heard them blast Reddit yet.
