Okay so homeowner was prepared and defended their home apparently by the book, they made the right calls and took appropriate action. I’d love to see video or hear how it all went down. Assailants were both wearing vests so likely headshots is what took them down. I want to know whether defender had a rifle or a pistol, how many shots were fired, did assailants fire, so many questions. I want more info and look forward to knowing more.

Civi here, I rarely engage directly in this sub (or NG) and I’ve been following / observing since the occupation of LA. I know reddit in general skews to the left and there’s still plenty of right wingers and wingnuts around, they’ve got their “safe spaces”, lol. The community here has been very level headed, informed, often entertaining, mostly open armed and has given me relief (encouragement) and provided a lot of hope through all this. At the same time over at NG the community is almost the opposite, gatekeeping, aggressive and it feels like the majority of people speaking up fall into the red hat right wingnut category. Do you have any insight on that? From within does it feel more balanced or does it skew to one side politically?

I’ll look it up. As a single man there’s only so much preservation I can keep up with. Hoping to find a partner to join me and help take my lil riverfront paradise homestead to the next level. Wanting to get a pair of goats once she joins me, as of now I can only handle so much on my own. To be clear, I’m perfectly happy and fulfilled being here with my critters and plants. I imagine it will be even better with someone to share it all with.

I’m the opposite, filling my freezers, lol. I’ve got blackberries, pears and plums I should be harvesting to preserve. The blackberries can be frozen, the pears frozen if skinned or dehydrated and not sure what to do with the plums other than give to my hens.

Man thats a hella story, pretty funny. So was your proper carbon steel (expensive) or more mall ninja set? Likely mall ninja as that how most sets are sold. All mine were bought separately and while they look close theyre different manufacturers. Good you got your life together!
