They’ve been strategically keeping the masses underpaid, living paycheck to paycheck and held down under crippling debt. The only people that have the resources to stop going to work while keeping housed and family fed are the people we need to reclaim the power from, generally speaking. The perspective most people have when considering a general strike is looking at like a part-time job or something to be done instead of work. The country is broken and the entire government has been illegitimately thrown into authoritarianism and the only option is to stop paying anyone. Stop the country in it’s tracks. The infrastructure of our society has been fully corrupted and coopted and it needs to be accepted as a paradigm shift. It’s not going to ever be what it was and in order to rebuild it needs to be further broken. Which means stop paying for everything we can, demand change in every way. If you need to take the food the store then take it. There needs to be civil disobedience on such a massive scale that overwhelms the individual safety structure trying prevent it. I don’t know how to get there and it really needs the political left to stand behind the effort. We need leadership and mass coordination.
