Like others point out MMA already is the future martial art. When I was a semi-pro kickboxer competing internationally there was no MMA, this was late 90s. It was full contact kickboxing, lethwei & muy thai. MMA hit mainstream soon after and everything got dumped into that.

In my book all those others were pop, mainstream. I was into Urge Overkill, Butthole Surfers, Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr, Janes Addiction, L7, Big Black, Nick Cave, Mercury Rev, The Jesus Lizard, Boss Hog, Sonic Youth, the Flaming Lips, Union Carbide Productions and yeah, Nirvana. And the classics: Can, MC5, Big Starr, Iggy, Devo

Im not an audiobook fella either. I listened to LiveSuit (novella of Mercy of the Gods, JSAC) and a month later had to read it in order to really take it in. I also tried listening to Network Effect (Murderbot) and just couldnt do it. Waited till the library could get it for me and read it. Analog is king, digital in a pinch.

I just read Walking to Aldebaran, my library has a hardback signed copy, one of 3000. I was surprised, stoked and grateful. Great story too!!
