My parents always, on the regular, multiple times stressed to me that no matter what I was doing and with who, if I found myself in a situation where I needed a ride from a party/hangout where drugs were involved that they just wanted me to call them and have them pick me up. I didnt hang out with shit heads but I did do my fair share of shit but never was drinking and driving or in cars with kids that were. My parents were strict too, but always said they wouldnt punish me for a making a smart decision after a bad one (they def considered partying bad)
