I dont know the ins and outs of it all, because fuck me who really does? But I can tell you that employers that offer those better healthcare services pay a portion of it. Often times how good/expensive your employer provided plan is depends on how much the employer is paying for on their end. If you have good benefits at a reasonable cost, thats likely your employer doing you a solid. Usually places that make good money and dont want high turnover.

In a worst case scenario, that might actually be the silver lining. If this were ever to go human-to-human airborne transmission, quick mutations means it would likely mutate into a less deadly variant relatively quickly. Strong emphasis on relatively because obviously this would do an incredible amount of damage before that happens, and theres a lot of room between less deadly than the previous variant and not deadly enough to be a major concern.

People fail to realize it was never about grocery prices. Just like 2016 was never about economic anxiety. In both cases Trump got handed a great economy. I remember doing a double take at that. I was never a Musk fanboy but at that point in time, like most people, I was indifferent to him. Seemed like a normal, ambitious rich person who might do some good in the world. Then he, super weirdly and uncharacteristically, trashed the rescuers because they stole his thunder. Went so far as to call them pedos? All of a sudden, I realized this was not a well-adjusted individual. It has been all downhill from there, and I now regard him as one of the absolute worst pieces of trash to walk the earth, and I deeply resent the amount of influence he wields. The idea that he will be a top level admin of the Trump administration is a nightmare.
