Where did I say anything remotely like impossible? Reread my comment. The only implication was that it was someone who has experience handling firearms and has practiced or training. A rando cant just grab a scope, put it on a rifle, and hit that shot in the first try, is the point. Someone who regularly goes hunting at those distances has practice, like I said. It could well be a redneck who hunts. Its not someone who got upset and decided they would buy a gun and commit an assassination.

Its their effort to condition people into believing all political violence comes from the left, and it works. I see that sentiment all the time, despite the vast evidence to the contrary. Now even if the shooter is caught and proven to be right-wing, theyll just claim thats a cover/fake news and they are really a liberal and repeat in until they are blue in the face.

It is risky. A murder weapon can potentially get linked back to a killer. Finger prints, serial number. Often times a killer overlooks something, like wiping their prints off of the bullets that are still loaded in the magazine, even if they wiped the rest of the gun. Its much better if they can destroy the weapon so it can never be found or at least matched to the fired bullet. But getting caught with it on your person is game over.
