I literally replaced the rod and spring with Kidd’s prior to posting earlier today. I haven’t used a chrono yet.

That’s an awesome consideration good sir, my Boyd’s stock is on a Ruger American Rimfire 22lr and can’t be swapped with 10/22s. It’s my only Boyd’s and wanted to share my opinion about it since OP asked even though it’s not a 10/22. Seriously appreciate it though. Good hunting!

I’ve got a Boyd’s Pro-Varmint on my RAR and I really don’t like it, kinda hate it and resent it for the price I paid. I wish there were other wood options for the RAR and Boyd’s had better descriptions on their products. IMO Boyd’s is not worth cost and the final products are unsatisfying if you’re on any sort of budget. The stock I bought is fat and heavy, overpriced and no stippling unless I paid another $75+ Not a happy Boyd’s customer.

I meant no insult there, it’s a resounding endorsement and that’s impressive actually. If I had a dozen 22lr rifles I would try all the ones that seem interesting or get high praise. The fact that you’ve settled on the Burris as best bang for buck is great by me.

I’ve got one on my RAR and it’s a great optic. I’ve never seen anyone else praise the Droptine but I think it’s a great value and gtg for me. Six of them seems excessive, I’ve got a few Vortex’s and glass is great but not as much magnification for the price. I’ve been tempted to look at the Athlon rimfire is but I don’t need it and wondering how much better it is than the Burris, it does have adjustable paralax which could be nice. I’ve got a 50 yard home range so Burris and Vortex set 50 yard works well enough for 95% of my shooting.

I paid $150 in 2011 from Bi-Mart, but yeah the stock is basically $100 (at least that’s about what mine cost when I bought one).
