Maybe he didn’t want to get caught in a bullet hole ridden train car with reports to the police (eventually) of bodies found near the train tracks.

Its nearly 2 hours long if that makes you feel better. So technically were getting 2 episodes but both in the same day Not to beat this to death, but a snail’s pace with irrelevant diversions all season, cram most of the story into one big fat finale episode. Bleh.

It doesnt really make sense though Neither do many elements in Sheridan’s stories.
