I think I am good. The wounds were scabbing over last night before I got treated. The worst was the long emergency room wait, and how sore my left shoulder is. I’ve been sleep all day too.

No disrespect intended, but you can’t really trust what you get back from a web search. I would ask a historian or a medical historian. My sister’s husband is a pediatrician and one of his frequent complaints is having to talk parent out of what they read on “The University Of Google” as he puts it.

But that was how it was in 1923 with rabies shots and treatment. I wouldn’t assume that. I’ve seen posts in this sub question the historicity of many elements in the story. Those people were experts in those aspects of history.

I don’t think so. They had a big piece of land. I can see them wanting help to manage it and wanting to keep it in the family. Like Jacob and Cara they would have been old in 1923 and dependent on help from Spencer arriving.
