She had the letters when Spencer was removed from the ship. Spencer is the most important thing to her. I think it is a safe assumption she kept them in her possession. How come she didn’t send a wire to them at this point Good question. Also I think Spencer would have wired them that he got married and that is wife might be trying to come there.

Infection. I had that thought too. Also the brain can’t feel pain. Once that piece of his skull was gone he shouldn’t have felt pain. Would any M.D.s care to tell us what happens to the hole in his head. Would a real life surgeon put the bone of the skull back and would it knit back to the skull to cover the brain?
