of two dead hobos.

I find it hard to believe that in almost a century nobody stumbled across that mound of bodies.

The episodes are still improving. This one was more interesting and went quicker. Based on other conversations here I know there are two scenes which people are going to object to as being gratuitously violent to women. I could have done without Whitfield and the robber barons. Big question: Why didn’t Spencer push those people from the train instead of jumping off himself? Was he concerned that someone may have heard the gunfire and concluded her murdered those people? Big question: With all of those wanted posters did the cowboys not recognize Teonna or are they playing her, getting her to feel relaxed until the marshals come? If so, why wouldn’t they have taken down the posters so they wouldn’t get tipped off? I find it hard to believe that Spencer and Alexandra can travel for days without food. Maybe Alexandra. She can drink loads of water, fast, and lay in her bunk. Spencer is walking and carrying all of his baggage. Once during college I missed a bus after a holiday. I was in great shape so I carried my bags 6 miles home – but it wasn’t easy lol. The writers are not being realistic about traveling under duress. Alexandra should have asked one of the train station clerks to escort her to the bathroom and wait outside.

Thats what immigration officials were getting at. I had the impression the clerk was implying that she made up a story about being a rancher’s wife, not that some man lied her into bed. A stack of handwritten letters is a bit more than even horniest guy is willing to do.

Couldn’t she have also named the captain of the ship that rescued and married them? That didn’t work so well for Spencer when they were on the British ship on the way home from Italy. They probably had a telegraph room on Ellis island — and it wouldn’t have been difficult to relay a message to a particular ship. The reputation of Ellis Island is that it likely wouldn’t have been that accomdating.

I liked the idea ( unlikely that it will happen ) that Spencer and Alexandra will cross paths at some train station out in the sticks.

I agree, but it is possible to be into a show, want to shoot the shit about the weak points, and still enough of a fan to keep watching that. A lot of people in TV subreddits do not understand that. If you mention anything negative about the show the fan(anatic)s turn hostile on you.

I had a chat in the dentist’s sub a few years ago. Some populations of people had natural dental self care for centuries. That and adequate nutrition would have allowed some populations to have healthy teeth, maybe not Hollywood white, but healthy and not gross. The train car hobos probably had teeth for the same reason the homeless do today. Poor nutrition, lack of dental self care, and of course the alcohol.

1883 is good, but it is a hard story to watch. A lot of tragedy. Yellowstone started off okay. Became a soap opera. Rushed season finale and the story got more and more silly towards the end. Someone stopped trying.

Yep, the series finale will be rushed.
