Most kids were watching it in classrooms (my lil sis was in her elementary auditorium with a chained tv wheeled in), but I was at 7th grade lunch. They announced the whole thing over the loudspeakers after it happened, even though a good chunk of the school district watched it 10 minutes previous ‍️

A game so damned popular they installed TVs above the cabinets so you could watch others playing from a few rows back in the crowd of kids that was waiting. No joke.

The 80s laid the groundwork for today. Without Reagan, we wouldn’t have Trump. No Reagan and no explosion in homelessness, no shrinking middle class, no war in Kuwait, no war in Afghanistan, no out of control AIDS epidemic. No crack epidemic. The list is endless. If it’s fucked up look for the Republican who fucked it up.
