The term elite is pretty nebulous. When the right uses it, they generally mean people who are experts in their field having dedicated their lives to studying something, have higher educations, are part of prestigious alumni groups etc. Somehow, the mega rich folks born with a silver spoon and who shits in golden toilets, dont register as elites. I guess by virtue of being a conservative, it must be impossible to be an elite in the MAGA mind. In any case, its just a buzz word they throw around and try to give a negative connotation to. They want their base to be distrustful of people who have dedicated their lives to science or statesmanship and instead favor outside disrupters to come in and tear down established institutions and traditions based on facts, evidence, and experience.

The pledge of allegiance is too woke for a certain subsection of Americans now.

100% based. MAGA does not want the truth or transparency. They just want Trump to weaponize this against democrats and are frustrated he hasnt.

Yep. Im already seeing it in threads. Far left people swearing off voting for moderates and vice versa.

It wouldnt be so sad except that they are so insecure about it and they absurdly claim that every other sub is the real censorship safe spaces.

Ive been arguing with these folks for the last few days. It really is a case of letting perfect be the enemy of good. Yes, centrist democrats have their flaws. Yes, some hold views that are counter to current progressive movements. For instance, Newsom recently put out some anti-trans rhetoric. But it pales in comparison to what Trump and GOP are doing by several orders of magnitude. Whats really funny about these people is they expect the other side to compromise if their side wins the primary. Like the far leftists expect moderates to support their candidate if they win the primary, BUT THEY DONT BELIEVE THEY SHOULD DO THE SAME IF A MODERATE WINS. I also think these voices are coming from younger generations that think significant political change happens overnight, or over one election. They dont realize how long and how much effort it took to get things like black men the right the vote, then women, or even gay marriage which is still a work in progress as GOP is determined to go backwards (they also are trying to make it harder for married/divorced women to vote currently.)

Finally, a correct use of the meme.

The fucked up thing, is that I dont think his views are nearly as extreme or fringe as we want to believe. A lot of people feel that way deep down. They wont acknowledge it publicly, yet. But much like racism was fairly closeted there for a little while there, once the dam breaks, so to speak, a lot of people will come out spewing similar garbage. MMY. The people who support the Trump regime are just not good people. Theyll justify hatred and crimes of all sorts to keep hold on the most important things of all; power and owning the libs.

Yeah he pleaded the 5th on just about every question that could feasibly lead to an incriminating answer. I seem to remember Trump having some certain opinions on pleading the 5th as well.
