I mean this is like Latinos thinking Trump would only deport the violent felon immigrants lol. Trump does this thing where he plays both sides of an issue. He gets away with it because his base understands the wink wink nature of his BS. For instance, when he hugs the rainbow flag, his base understands hes doing it to get naive votes. They dont go oh mah Jesus, Trump loves the gays! Blasphemy! Instead, they know hes actually going to do shit to marginalize them in office, but the move will still get ignorant people and bad actors just enough ammunition to make these bad faith arguments and appeals that it could tip support in his favor.

The idea that we can just Willy nilly take out too leadership personnel, scientists, generals, and destroy Iranian infrastructure and then expect no repercussions and call it a diplomatic triumph, is so beyond the pale insanity. Even had the ceasefire held, which obviously it didnt and was never likely to, Iran is going to find a way to get some kind of retribution. Probably in a future terror attack.
