Yes, they do. Source: i work at a local station, and the buys come to individual stations. DHS may be buying network as well. They had a lot of people to pay off with these performative ads. The typical audience of a local news station is a white voter over 60. The point of these ads is to tell their base, “Look, we’re doing something!”
