And maybe moderates should refuse to vote for anyone left of Newsom. That strategy will surely work out.

That is a good idea, no one is saying it isnt. But depending on who voters select in the primary, we might end up with a candidate who personally doesnt think trans people belong in sports. It sucks, but its still better than the fascist alternatives.

Whos caping for him? I dont like Newsom. I just dont think hes remotely comparable to Trump or anyone else in the GOP. Again, we should band together during the primary and go for the candidate as far to the left as possible. And should that candidate win, moderates better show the F up and kick the fascists out and not get butthurt because the candidate is too far left. Right? But by that same token, if the winner of the primary is someone more center, or even Newsom, leftists need to do the same. If we arent practical in the general election, then we are willingly submitting to fascist Nazi rule indefinitely.

And do tell, who is the leader of this alleged cult?

Between electing Newsom or Trump/Trumps successor, which do you think would move the Overton window more or less to the right? Which has the highest chance of moving it back towards the left?

Not once have I advocated for not voting for dems if they’re not left enough, Then look around, because thats what many on the left are doing. Thats what this OP post is about. Thats what many of the comments here are about. Thats what my original comment, is about. If you are in agreement, you have a very antagonistic way of going about it. But to deny that there are leftists who refuse to vote for moderate candidates is to deny the very reality that is plainly in front of you. Do the candidates shoulder some of the blame? Sure, of course. But to treat it as so black and white and not recognize that the leftists who refuse to vote for anything other than the Perfect Leftist Candidate also hurts us, is whats truly naive.

What I said doesnt fall into ridiculous hyperbole and you seem to agree by saying that Newsom is inviting the very kind of wedge issue psyop I was criticizing. Look, Im not saying dont criticize Newsom. By all means, criticize the shit out of him. Ill reiterate again, I wont be supporting Newsom in the primary. But my point is once the primary is over, dont cry foul and hand over even more power to the fascist thugs tearing this country apart. The fact is, youre not going to get a candidate who checks all the boxes. They are going to have flaws. Those flaws will pale in comparison to what the right is offering by many orders of magnitude – guaranteed. But if the moderates fold their arms and take their ball home because someone too far left wins the primary, or Vice versa, we are doomed to more of what weve been getting so far. Make your case during the primary, but god dammit, show up in the general so we can stop kidnapping people off of the streets and sending them to foreign prisons, and stop robbing the poor of whatever social safety nets they have left, if any, to give welfare to the billionaires, etc etc.

A campaign can be dogshit but still be in my best interests to vote for, isn’t that quite literally what you’re advocating for? Yeah exactly. Thats literally what Im advocating for, yet you are arguing against it. Are you ok? You vote for who you want during the primary. Hopefully, you get the candidate you want. But you may not. And if that happens, you still show up and vote because even if its Newsom or Harris etc, its still in your best interests to vote for them vs what the right is offering; unfettered fascism. Its so simple, even you seem to get it. I expect moderates to do just the same even if a far left candidate wins the primary. We either band together and defeat these fascist fucks, or we willingly submit to fascist rule, again.

Listen, theres people in here panicking that because Newsom (ignorantly) doesnt like trans women in sports, that means he supports the genocide and destruction of trans people. So I ask your forgiveness for reading into your comment is being part of that narrative.

Why would you vote for Harris if it was a dogshit campaign filled with unpopular positions?
