Columbia without question. I used it last year on a raincoat I bought in 2011 and they ended up giving me over 3x what I paid for it in store credit to replace. I ended up with two Columbia winter coats (already bought a used Patagonia raincoat) and a pair of socks. I paid like $65 for the Columbia raincoat (on sale), they credited me $210. They never asked for receipts or proof of purchase. Stellar CS & warranty, very impressed.

Whats the make of your raincoat OP? If its Columbia or Patagonia theyll replace it if you file a warranty claim. Otherwise buy either brand going forward, used it gtg as well as they stand behind their products.

Yep. I’ve got a 10″ Victornox that’s my daily driver, literally use every single day often sitting my cutting board unwashed waiting till today. I also have a very nice, very sharp Shun 10″ chef knife and I use it maybe once a week. If I’m chopping a lot I break out the Shun otherwise the Victornox gets the action. I’ve had them both well over 10 years, maybe 15.

Yeah I burned through 2 giant Warings before buying a Robot-Coupe. They still worked but their power dropped significantly. I imagine for home use though theyd work well and last quite a long time. Plus I dont think R-C comes in a small enough size to be practical for home use. Likely Waring is the best bet for home.

DUDE!! Wow..thats amazing. How does smoking after cooking work? How do you prep / cook the beans? Im in Oregon and was using locally sourced beans and olive oil from NorCal. I see you’re in Hawaii..sounds like a dream. We might want to take this to DMs, I may have some super secret sauce to share with you.

Yes to 18 and I always did my best to avoid metal on plastic, avoiding plastic as much as able. I used large stainless mixing bowls initially. If you can get high walled ones it works better but wider mouth bowls also worked great. Out of curiosity are you using canned beans or preparing your own from dried bulk?
