The body is the fitness tracker. Pen and paper, wtf kind of bifl bullshit you asking about op? No electronic gadget is bifl folks. Maybe old school analog electronics but nothing made since 80s should be here. This sub has gotten really unfocused.

It would certainly be helpful in order to keep this sub what it was built to be. I like the r/buyoncecryonce idea, if there was one that’s active it can be promoted here and the mods can moderate to point folks there

I dont believe practicality has anything to do with longevity which literally is what this sub was created for. Youre not asking for a bifl item so why spam this community with unrelated requests. Theres other communities that fit the bill better. Im not trying to gate-keep but it does frustrate me.

Pre and 80s analog sure, anything made with designed obsolescence and microchips can fuck off. So tired of these posts tbh. And yes Apple makes good quality shit but until people are using their 30+ year Apple thing, they don’t fucking count.

We need someone to start a sub for all the electronic focused stuff that’s clearly NOT bifl. Obviously there’s a need for it and it would allow this sub to be more focussed on things that actually last a lifetime and was built with quality and longevity. How’s r/topshelfelectronics sound? Someone please do this so people have a more appropriate place for these clearly non-bifl posts.

Exactly the reason why any automatic rice cooker, coffee or bread maker is NOT bifl. Electronic cooking / prep gear by nature is not gonna last your lifetime or the next generation’s. BIFL rice cookers are what we’ve been making rice with the generations before electricity, a pot.

Anything that’s not plastic should be fine, glass has more opportunity to shatter than stainless. I have a bunch of different bottles and they’re all fine. A copper alloy might serve best as it’s germ and micro-organism resistant. With water bottles you’re gonna have fanboys and brand-enthusiasts but brand really doesn’t matter.

Old school weapons grade, nice. as always, analog is king

Yes this is basic. I’ll add that non-stick pan OP buys every few years is poisoning him as well as anyone they’re feeding. And cast-iron used correctly IS non-stick.
