And it is never a good idea to accept an offer to try and convince you to stay. They just want time to get hire a replacement. When you quit you leave immediately and block them. The last time I provided advance notice I gave them 4 weeks notice because they had asked for that when I accepted the position. The lazy fucks didn’t start interviewing people until the Wednesday of my final week. They asked if I would accept a contractor position to take care of their sales tax reports and line of credit management. I really didn’t want to. So I prepared a contract that would charge them $250 an hour with a 4 hour minimum for any day that I came in to work no matter how long I was in the office. They were surprised. The person before me did it for $25 an hour. For 2 years.

Which is why I don’t provide notice until I am leaving.

I’ve never rage quit. But I no longer provide notice. The last two firms found out I was leaving when I turned in my company property. I left everything in my office, loaded up my personal property and fired off a resignation email, and left immediately. I view the email as more than adequate and more than any firm deserves. Once raises start to get smaller, I know they are taking me for granted. So I get a position with a new firm and set up a start date a month from accepting the job. The next day, I quit and block everyone. Then I enjoy a month off.
