Just a guess, but you may be focusing on the situation rather than on your date. You might be inadvertently sending off strange signals. I’m thinking about performance anxiety, which affects males, but you have anxiety about a different kind of performance.

You have plenty of opportunities to say you’re sorry in a relationship, but I don’t think you should say you’re sorry for saying the L word. That is, unless you made a commitment to each other not to say it.
