No, but just for clarity for anyone who needs to know, Baby is introduced in episode 17.

I think a caveat needs to be added to this suggestion because simply watching the first few episodes could turn someone off who might otherwise like the later sagas. Its widely agreed that the first portion of GT is inferior to the later parts, and many people suggest starting at Baby saga. The first parts of GT try to copy original Dragon Ball formula but tries a bit too hard and does not execute well, whereas Baby saga onward is a more Dbz like continuation of the story.

I personally much prefer the black hair over the red hair. By a huge margin.

The more I like at the Daima version, the more I dislike it. GT design is better by far.

Definitely the most serious too. Though he also displayed that flawed Saiyan pride and battle lust that often causes them to not finish a fight early on.

Then why arent any of the movies on the timeline? Where has Shueisha explicitly stated that GT isnt part of the Canon? It sure looks to me like Shueisha considers GT to be Canon.

Thats a good point, I had forgotten about that tbh. Interestingly, Shueisha includes GT as being part of the Canon or official timeline, which is definitely something that would cause a lot of contention with most fan interpretation of canon.

But there isnt an official canon. Every reference to canon that is ever mentioned, is invented by fans. Toriyama himself never states what is official Canon. The closest he comes is referencing his Manga as the main story and some non-Manga content (like movies) as being side-stories but that is not the same as establishing an official canon. Ultimately I feel like the people who take whats canon so seriously are just missing the point of dragon ball. I dont think Toriyama or Toei would want fans to get caught up over whats official and whats not. Even in cases where theres obvious discrepancies (like certain movies taking place during timelines that dont fit in with the main stories) its still all dragon ball and they just want the fans to enjoy the content whether its Manga, anime, movies, side-stories, etc all the same.

The Buu saga was pretty good up until Buu is introduced
