being able to walk to union from home is quite the privilege. that trip for most other denverites is a haul when you consider the inconsistencies in timing and reach of most bus lines and the limited reach of light rail. happy to hear you can make that trip so easy though! keep ridin.

well. it certaibly must be a step up from nashville, the way you describe things. coming from boston i dont find it anywhere near as transit-rich. and new yorkers/anyone from any other developed, dense, walkable city would tell you it doesnt hold a candle. greater denver metro is built around car travel. light rail and commuter rail are both built to be park and ride systems. they are intended to get people in the outer parts of the metro area into the city by driving to a train station or similar transit access point, and taking mass transit into and then back out of the city. im glad you like it. i have a love-hate relationship with our system. i make the most out of it by using my bike to span the gaps. i take a combo of bus and train to get around town. im happy to take a little longer to get somewhere, stay active, and not operate a motor vehicle. but i desire greatly for this city to have a much more pedestrian-accessible mass transit system. everyone in the city should have the ability to leave their home or place of work on foot, walk five minutes or less to transit access, wait 15 minutes or less for a train or bus, and use that public transportation for an hour or less to get anywhere they desire within denver metro. it just isnt like that for nearly enough people, though. again- happy for you. welcome to denver. keep using transit. youre one of the righteous ones.

this is america. so yes. and you arent cheating a person out of money. you are extracting funds from a deserving adversary: unprofessional city contractors putting lives in danger and an arm of the government. governments dont have feelings. and: they print money. take them for all that its worth.
