If theybare failing to reach revenue targets it is not because there isnt enough stuff to spend money on. Its because there arent enough people playing the game and spending money.

They can make more money on microtransactions when the player population is high than they can when the player population is low. They have forced the smallest player base the game has ever seen into a nearly endless loop of empty engagement without bothering to strengthen the new player expierience. They need more people playing the game happily, not less people playing the game desperately.
