I do think it would be strange to include that line in the ep if it didnt mean anything, but it could just be the writers letting the audience know that her tenant situation is still unresolved and more will happen.

I found both kills to be very enjoyable and cathartic. Its the dialogue. Yeah they could have given Gemini killers a little more pizazz and made them harder kills, but instead we are just seeing prime Dexter entering the lions den and revealing the lions to be cubs. They just dont measure up to the experience Dexter has in hunting killers. The dialogue and acting is just so good. Dexter gives himself the spiked drink believing that Gemini, who believes himself the smartest in every room, will likely insist on switching the drinks to show how intelligent and prepared he is. Make no mistake it was a gambit, and Dexter is both relieved and proud that he called it correctly. And then the way he taunts the twin at the island is also really great performance. The tension rises over time as Dexter goes back and forth revealing that he knows Geminis secret, but dont worry he wont share it with anyone, but also I know about your notes in the bookstore, but its ok I was just following because Im such a fan, but actually do twins really feel each others pain? How about last night, when I murdered your brother? Just a chefs kiss moment of expertly taunting a serial killer to lose his cool and go on the attack.

Look, I need a satisfying conclusion. Resurrection has been unbelievably good, if this shit gets cancelled Im rioting.

No but this would just feel anticlimactic imo. Ripper will probably be S2 big bad and will either be a new character or someone who hasnt been revealed as a bad guy yet. Why waste that on someone who is already established as a killer that fits Dexters code?

I felt this season consistently hit peak highs from beginning to end and felt like watching original Dexter, yet somehow fresh with the new setting. The dialogue was so good, and Michael C Hall is just killing it in the role as usual. Really looking forward to what comes next.

Yes I think out of all the killers, his could have held up for a season big bad the most.

Thats missing the point. Dexters actions arent really gross except for the explicitly innocent people he has killed. But ignoring those instances, we are talking about a work of fiction, where Dexter is presented as an extremely competent law enforcement investigator and the viewer is presented with scenarios where a persons guilt of capitol crimes is assured and Dexter dispenses due justice. But Im talking about in real life, where vigilantism isnt the result of careful and methodical crime scene analysis, collecting evidence, and making a judgement. Its messy and perpetrated by people who are emotionally invested in vengeance, usually because they believe they have been personally wronged or have an ideological motivation. These criminals may deserve to die. I wont get into the ethics of the death penalty, because thats also beside the point. Whether they deserve to die or not is irrelevant, vigilantism is gross because it doesnt follow a legitimate process, due process, to establish guilt or determine the proper consequence. Theres also zero accountability. If this was how justice was dispensed on a national scale, it would be an utter disaster of unbelievable proportions. As flawed as our current justice system is, vigilantism is several orders of magnitudes more flawed and would invariably result in innocent people getting killed, or people getting killed for minor offenses, etc. on a very large scale. Its fun to watch on tv, and we have all felt that certain criminals who got off light or got away completely deserve to be punished. And those feelings are valid, but it has to be done the right way that most accurately determines a persons guilt and gives the innocent a fair chance to defend themselves.

Yeah a lot of people are pro-violent vigilantism. Its gross. Enjoy Dexter for being a great work of fiction and escapism. Dont be mistaken that this would be a good idea in real life.
