A big cartoonish rubber mallet, he hits the floor and it emits a huge dog-toy SQUEAK!! Makes a lil sonic blast that can knock them back/prone/both? Maybe 1-3 dmg, nothing serious. Just keeps scattering them around, but not life threatening

The wacky, nonsensical that wasnt in the script hijinks that you and the party get into is what MAKES D&D. The mission? The dragon? Yeah sure great but in the meantime GETTING there is most of the fun.

Good advice already. Dont belabor the name of this Bay or what the economics of some mining city are; theyre starting in a tavern and may die against some goblins. Keep it simple; build FROM there.

No single PC combat turn should last more than 3-5 minutes, topsTOPS. Whimsically imagining EACH of your options and abilities out loud, before settling on a melee attack? Cant allow that stuff. Set a timer, and remind the next in Initiative that theyre on deck. ‍️

My friend, i recently played as a Shield-Maiden type, spear and shield human Fem Fighter. I was security for the rest (all casters). It was a blast of a campaign! (Witchlight)

Im currectly Brother Hesson Weaver, a human Cleric of Pelor (god of the sun and harvest). Ive been proselytizing to practically every NPC group and have actually converted a few groups! (DM said theyd help our crew later ) As a Sunlight cleric, i have lots of Radiant attacks, can blind fools, etc. I can also cast Fireball and other fire-based Wiz spells, as a CLERIC! I also am juiced in Shield Master-style skills so i can protect my flock in a fight. I play him as slightly arrogant and a bit pushybut valiant and first to charge in combat.
