Set up the elgato in obs as a capture card device and also set up a separate audio capture with it is well. As for it slowing down your computer, you either need to spend the time researching or get something more powerful if you have maxed it out. One hack for obs if you upload to YouTube, set up your base canvas with 4k res and stretch the elgato capture to fit it. It will look better on YouTube that way.

I semi resolved it by using an app I already had called “mic drop” from the app store.
