The way this is going to simultaneously destroy tipping culture and government funding would be hilarious except that we have to deal with the consequences.

Tipping is the practice of having customers subsidize a portion of the companies labor. Often times, the majority of their labor. Ask yourselves why it should be on you to pay them. We dont pay Walmart or other retail employees wages through tipping. Although Im sure retail employers would love it if we started. All companies, restaurants included, should pay their servers a reasonable wage. Tipping culture is ridiculous, and just like with anything else good service should just be the baseline expectation. Employers have the tools to track the level of service their servers are providing, and they can be responsible for rewarding good service and correcting bad service, without customers needing to pay up.

How can you be so dense? Its baffling how much of this concept is going over your head. Im a customer who orders the following, Breadsticks – $10 Soda + 4 separate refills – $3 Chicken wings – $15 Requested extra dipping sauces – $3 Pasta entree – $20 Kids meal for child – $15 Coloring book for child – $0 Total – $66 Another customer orders the following Steak and lobster – $87 Glass of wine – $30 Total – $117 Which customer was more difficult to serve? Which server is getting a better total tip amount?

Oh, do they? You might want to think about this comment when your drink runs dry next.

Bro, youre going to get shitty service if that sentiment is common lmao. All the good servers will move on to high end dining or bartending because most of us already make more than minimum wage.

lol, this comment section is full of people who have never been a server or bartender.

Bro when youre working for tips and have to be charismatic, observant, and be able to multitask, it can be a lot. As a bartender, something as little as remembering everyones drink can make a huge difference in how much you make. Fuck me, I doubt an average Walmart employee would make a half decent server let alone bartender.

Weird way to say youre too pussyfoot to write $0 on the tip line.
