This is the way elected officials behave when they choose their voters rather than the voters choosing them. This Senator obviously isn’t concerned about any future elections.

There are very few people who can stop him. All the Democrats and Congress are willing to stop him, but the Republicans are afraid he will say something bad about them. Republicans care more about personal embarrassment than they do about the lives of their constituents.
