I agree its absolutely not even the 2018 version of the party. Its loose now. We almost need 5-6 parties. Lets see who gets the bag.

Cocaine Crain (that’s what city staff calls him, not me) looks at every vote now and says: “How can I put myself ahead of Macy with affluent people for 2027?” It’s disgusting. It’s also, I guess, politics.

I used to go to a church with a kid (haven’t seen him in a bit) who lived in Arlington Heights, and worked for FWISD. He’d regularly tell me his main thing was to send truancy emails to parents, often unreturned. I think he told me once that was a 72K job. That’s where “more money” seems to go, I think. Not really to classrooms. And don’t get me wrong — he was a nice dude. I liked him in our brief interactions. I just question whether that’s a 72K job, since you can automate most of that right now.

I would be all for that. I do not know how that process would commence, however. I agree that teachers feel hamstrung by culture wars and ticky-tacked curricular models that they “have” to use re: spending/budget. FWISD Board feels incompetent as hell, too. I’ve met some nice principals and teachers, but all of them are burnt to a crisp. And why did the city hire Ramsey? Everyone knows the power core wants an entitled former Tanglewood Mom who has a Masters-Ed to do it. Let’s just give it someone like that, so they all feel like the in-group is set. And hopefully said woman does well.
