    I agree with you that certain people are coming for public education. No doubt there. I also agree with you about birthrates. Absolutely no doubt there. I also would throw in that in 2020, Aledo and Benbrook seemed more affordable because of 2.7% 30-year notes. That impacts FWISD too. I used to periodically hang out with Kevin Lynch (now School Board). He always told me that the true death knell was what happened in COVID around how parents perceived the district, the fleeing to other districts, the fleeing to charters, the truancy, etc. It is obviously a bigger picture than just COVID, so my headline was probably off-base-ish, but I think COVID was the time period where a lot of stuff started to come together.

    I wonder sometimes where all the resentment came from that led to such a desire to “own the libs” over anything else. I guess Obama being African-American, MeToo, COVID, and a few other things?
