And that Heritage Foundation template was the most socialist government overreach ever! Democrats were destroyed in the midterms and republicans got in power and weakened it even further. Its what always happens. Democrats achieve a step forwardthen its not good enough or too radical and they get voted outRepublicans smash it to piecespeople find out that they liked what democrats did and vote them back to fix what republicans destroyedpublic gets mad that democrats didnt rebuild fast enough or perfect enough so they elect republicans again and repeat.

Few thoughts: 1) Democrats faced massive backlash with just going as far as the ACA. Obama took so much criticism saying people could keep their insurance and that turned out not to be quite true. People HATE our healthcare system but get really weird about it when its their own insurance. 2) Youd have to explain how universal healthcare wont get immediately blocked by our far right supermajority in the Supreme Court.

Since we are plugged in we know how little control democrats have at the moment. The average member of the publicnot so much. And the media will absolutely spin it that way

I think its because they want to put democrats in the position they are currently in. The media is already pushing the narrative that democrats are in control over what happens next
