I can get onboard with that if someone can outline how that agenda to rebuild can get past the Supreme Court striking it down. Its one thing to make all these promises, for example universal healthcare and codifying Roe, and its an entirely other to be able to deliver.

Yup, breaking and tearing things down is easy (and easy to cheer on). Its building thats the really hard part.

I cant believe people didnt show up and vote knowing about Project 2025 and Trump and co were very clear about their intentions. And instead of working with an administration people just didnt find exciting enough we now have the destruction of our federal government. Any incoming democratic administration (if we continue to have free and fair elections..TBD) will have no USAID, no Department of education, pissed off allies who no longer trust us, a gutted Social Security and Medicaid, Elon and DOGE entrenched, a far right Supreme Court and the list goes on and on. My point is instead of progressing forward its going to be all work to get us back to even remotely to where we were before.

This right here is why I have switched to The Bulwark. I dont agree with them on everything, but Tim at least has not let up on whats happening with ICE.

Good. At some point I hope the level of incompetence of this administration breaks though to some of them. Any resistance needs to be more than just democrats.

I think people wanted a break from the chaos that was the Trump Administration. If you ignore the perception of Socialism and our current media ecosystem in this country and instead just call everyone lazy.thats not a winning message.

You overlook the decades of socialism bad messaging that still permeates our culture.

Id argue that the ACA was a coordinated attempt to get to a Medicare for All program, but the backlash and right wing takeover ended that possibility. Any attempt to have what the right was able to do has been immediately dismantled by the right.
