They were because they have a media eco system that helps set the narrative. If by capitulating to billionaires I dont think shed sign off on one of the biggest transfers of wealth to the wealthiest in this countrys history. Thats what Trump did in his Big Beautiful Bill kicking millions off of their health insurance and cutting funding for medical centers. He allowed a billionaire to cut funding for USAID allowing millions to starve and die of preventable diseases. Gutted our scientific and medical research into things like cancer, ALS, AIDS and the next pandemic? Are you honestly telling me that Kamala Harris would have capitulated to let a billionaire unilaterally cut our government with a chain saw?

This country voted for the guy who had a billionaire jumping on stage with him and spent billions on a social media platform to spew propaganda. And our new VP is owned by billionaire Peter Thiel. Bezos muzzled his journalists over at the Washington Post. Its clear who the billionaires backed and the public clearly didnt see them as the enemy even though sooo many people saw Trump as some populist.

It goes even further than that. For as long as I can remember (Limbaugh in his heyday) Republican media (and some politicians) have told their Republican supporters that democrats are the enemy. We are radicals, we are Socialist communists who also want Sharia law, we want to indoctrinate their children and on and on. Its easy to support a strong man and not listen to anyone from the other side if you think hes protecting you from you from your enemy.

I hope youre right. Hes blown past so many red lines and is now sending the military into blue cities.and were not even a year in. The media is no where to be found and the only opposition message that seems to be breaking through is Newsom. Im really worried.

Its so frustrating. Democrats are told to focus on an issueany issue to break through to the public that Republicans are lying to their faces and not delivering on their promises. When Democrats actually do that the response is oh not like that or youre focusing too much on that rather than [other issue] The media doesnt care at all and will move on to the next thing. And the baffling thing is the public still seems largely apathetic about rising prices, etc that they were furious at Biden and democrats for.

Sure maybe. I was thinking if they were from a marginalized community. And Im not saying the change would have been good (eg gun laws)in fact quite the opposite
