No atheists in foxholes. I get pretty upset by this one. It is incorrect and lazy. There have been plenty of atheists in foxholes. My dog tags listed me as an atheist. There is an actual organization of military atheists called Atheists in Foxholes. This would be like saying, “No Christians in a science lab.”

I wasn’t a racist. This caused problems with a lot of the students and teachers. The school was tiny and rural. The education was subpar for Texas. The place operated with a budget that was the lowest allowed by law. I may have been the only person from my class to finish a bachelor’s program. The place was typical for rural Texas in the 80s. Insular, dying, fIlled with narrow-minded bigots. They lived in fear of change.

I’m working with the VA to get tested. I check a lot of boxes. I’m hoping medication will allow me to live the rest of my life better than the last 53 years.

I was alone. It was hard. It was easier after I got in shape and learned to fight. That improved my self-confidence, which was boosted more after I beat up a couple of bullies. At least then, I was only alone. I even squared up against a teacher when he grabbed the back of my neck and threatened to beat me up for wearing my earring to school on Halloween. he backed down quickly. They allowed 3 kids to wear full KKK robes. But my thin, small gold wire earring was a problem.

My thoughts exactly. Easy room for libraries and game areas. Multiple restaurants and room left for many, many comfortable apartments
