In my book all those others were pop, mainstream. I was into Urge Overkill, Butthole Surfers, Mudhoney, Dinosaur Jr, Janes Addiction, L7, Big Black, Nick Cave, Mercury Rev, The Jesus Lizard, Boss Hog, Sonic Youth, the Flaming Lips, Union Carbide Productions and yeah, Nirvana. And the classics: Can, MC5, Big Starr, Iggy, Devo

I could give a frog’s fat ass about the majority of my peers in the 80s & 90s, anything pop culture was an immediate nope for me. Most people are selfish assholes and entitled pricks, still are. Now on this sub it’s clear I don’t relate to the vast majority followers here. The 80s taught me self-reliance, finding my own path and ignoring what everyone else thinks is cool.
