Employers will hire, but not beyond a specified rate. If they can’t get someone at that rate for about six to eight months, they’ll automate the role out, if possible. It’s a shitty dance we’re in right now, absolutely. It sounds doomer-ish, but I don’t think full-time jobs will exist in 20 years. Just a bunch of task stuff. Might explain some of the fertility rate drop. Why have three kids if you figure two of these kids are likely to be living at home until 35?
