A first-of-its-kind analysis by ProPublica found that the sepsis rate in second-trimester pregnancy loss hospitalizations increased by more than 50% after Texas near-total abortion ban went into effect in September 2021. The analysis also identified at least 120 in-hospital deaths of pregnant or postpartum women in 2022 and 2023 an increase of dozens of deaths from a comparable period before the COVID-19 pandemic. Jesus fing Christ thats horrific. ETA: I find it so depressing that womens reproductive freedom has been completely dropped as a national issue.

And the fact they claim its about protecting women makes my blood boil

Yup I fully expect them to do a national abortion ban complete with blue state crackdowns as a distraction to the base while the oligarchs finish plundering the government

Ok_Bodybuilder800
But it starts with taking away womens bodily autonomy because women dying and going septic because of government intervention is just small potatoes then it moves on from something you might consider more important

I really think people voted on economic vibes. People were angry about inflation. They bought Trumps line about lowering the price of groceries on day one.

Theyve been one of my go to media sources. Their reporting has been excellent
