I’m a larger man with a lifetime of martial arts training, I carry myself well and never feel threatened personally. There’s definitely been times I feel silly carrying though, I relate to that. I’ve gone through waves. I also work with justice involved juveniles and formerly incarcerated so I can’t or don’t carry quite often. I always have my firearm in a lockbox in my truck in case I need to respond to something, as well as multiple trauma kits. I almost always have my folding blade on me unless entering state / federal or secured facilities. I’m very well trained with a blade. I’ve definitely weighed out the advantages of always carrying and for me having it near enough to be able to make a response is sufficient. I’ve gone to Costco armed many a times, now I’m fine with it staying in vehicle.

I’m also not comfortable with open carrying and look at folks who with questionable disdain BUT in the woods, on the trail, around the ranch I’m totally fine with and really enjoy sporting six-shooter in a leather holster. It feels natural and it’s not like open carrying in a public space, it strikes an older chord. Take that as you will but having a revolver while out in nature feels way more natural than conceal carrying. I’ll add that if I’m going to a public hiking spot, yes I have my ccw not my revolver. It really depends on how public the space is.

Looks great with room to fill, having that much empty safe space would taunt and tempt me, lol. I know it’s bought and installed so not much you can do about it now, is it fire-rated? I think fire-rated and water tight (if in potential flood zones) are hugely important considerations, a major must have.

That’s a fine looking firearm op, very nice. Is that 9mm? How’s it shoot?

I have a 50 yard home range out my back door, if I don’t get out and shoot at least every week I feel guilty and bothered. I prefer 2-3 days a week and usually only shoot for 1.5 to 2 hours and generally only 2 or 3 platforms a session.

This is supposed to be a group for people who identify as liberal politically Hoo boy, here goes. Yes when I first joined this sub well over 10 years ago I identified as a liberal democrat. Over the last few years I’ve gone further left to the point I’m clearly in the leftist camp, see flair, and hardly identify with liberalism whatsoever more closely align with socialist / commie / libertarian principles. I’m adamantly eat the fucking rich – dismantle the billionaire class, anti-AIPAC and want to see Citizen’s United abolished. I no longer identify with lame-duck liberalism.
