Exact same with me. I’m open to finding my life partner still, I’m absolutely happy and content living on with just myself, my critters and plants. Also in my 50s and while open to partnership my happiness is not contingent on it.

I started a Living Trust after I bought my home. In it has all my medical directives and estate beneficiaries, my nieces and nephew.

For me it’s completely seasonal as I grow / raise (sometimes forage) a good amount of what I eat so what I need to buy changes. Over summer and fall around $2-300 a month to keep up on the staples, winter and spring $3-400. What I eat changes depending on the season with preference to eat as much as I raise as possible. I’ve been eating a lot of pears, plums, peaches and figs this year as the harvest was plentiful. Pears and plums came with property, my fig trees are still starting so I was able to harvest a bunch of figs and peaches from a neighbor. I’m freezing and dehydrating much more than I have over past years, super stoked about that. Much of my orchards (that I planted) are just starting to provide, stoked for jujube’s in a month or so and too excited for my pawpaw’s to start bearing fruit, hopefully next year. I never have food waste at all, everything gets eaten by me or my hens if I can’t keep up or grew too much of anything or the fruits hit the ground before I harvest. I compost everything that’s left.

I love reading and this year started using the library rather than buying, I love it. I already own way too many books, the library has helped curb my book buying. Enjoy your day! Oh, how did the cat like acupuncture? Did it help her?

Finishing Dogs of War by Adrian Tchaikovsky, who’s my absolute favorite contemporary sci-fi author. It’s a really good book, dark and original concepts, first in a series of three. I already read the second book in the series, I thought it was a stand alone, lol. Today I picked up book 5 in Dungeon Crawler Carl series, super stoked to get back into it. What are you reading?

I already walked the dog, foraged a bunch of figs and peaches from a neighbor, worked the gardens, processed the figs (dehydrating) and peaches (freezing most, dehydrating some) and just got back from the library with a new book. Eating lunch now, about to chop some wood then do some target practice sighting in my X357. After all that gonna shower, read for a few hours then make dinner and watch some shows. Has anyone been watching Chief of War? Holy hell the latest episode was amazing, seriously the best battle sequence I’ve ever seen reenacted. Highly recommend.
