I’ve never claimed to be smart. In fact, I often point out how dumb I can be. You’re not insulting me, or hurting my feelings. You’re also quite a petty and ignorant person, aren’t you? Your account is almost 5 years old and you have negative karma. That is quite telling about what your options are and what your stances are. You’re pathetic. Sure it is. I’m not arguing against that. I’m just saying this one thing is a non fallacy though, because it would look like on the surface only one small thing, but it will lead to losses of multiple rights beyond the one it’s playing at taking. And I think that actually may be the point. It’s easy to get people behind this. It’s not easy to get people behind the repercussions of this. There’s exceptions to every rule, and this one is. No more voting. No more firearms. No more courier jobs. No joining the military. No becoming a cop, park ranger, postal worker, nurse, ext ext. No leaving the country. That’s not fear mongering, which is the slippery slope fallacy. It’s a fact this time.

Can you tell me the last time we got a new right? Because we are loosing them quite quickly. This isn’t the only one, and it won’t be the last. Since the Patriot Act we’ve been loosing them. This also isn’t the only constitutional right Trump has or is trying to take away. One year? You know what one year in jail is? A felony. That’s a LOT of rights gone. This one little thing is literally a slippery slope into loss of rights. You loose multiple rights with just this one law. Edit: Sorry, EO, I know it’s not a law.

There is less than 20 states that have banned child marriage. This specific debate point is about the raising it from 12. Where this is, there is nothing to investigate. It’s deplorably legal. If that comes as a shock, get there; there are 4 states where it is legal to marry an infant! People talk shit about other countries like India or Afghanistan. That shit is happening in our country. And, statistically, it’s happening in your state. In you town maybe.
