Abusive or dysfunctional families that lead to estranged families Death reducing families away Reddit condensing the few loners into one place giving the illusion of them being part of a trend rather than being the outliers. Numbers 1 and 2 have likely always been around, but with the increased communication of social media it seems like it was less of thing in the past and more of a thing now.

Every diet works by creating an energy deficit – just in different and in better & worse ways. The human body when first detecting an energy deficit consumes the glycogen ( carbs ) stored in the muscles. That results in 5-8lbs of water bound in the glycogen being released in about 1 – 2 weeks. Not knowing this many people declare Diet X to be a “miracle diet”, “the natural way to eat”, etc.

Who you are tends to attract who the people are that enter your life. As you change, different types of people will come into ( and leave ) your life.

Many people just don’t think about their behavior. I had a housemate in college who I stayed friends with. He moved overseas. He comes back to the area 1-2 times a year to visit family and other people. He wouldn’t tell me about this until he was already in the country and a few days from leaving. Like you, I accommodated him as I could. My guess is that his brain hadn’t changed from when we were students and he could just knock on my door anytime. I got tired of it and turned him down. I truthfully told him I had plans and couldn’t meet him on such short notice. He got angry and complained about it to other friends. He felt insulted that he came from abroad and that I wouldn’t see him. I haven’t been in touch with him since ( years ). I had told him on a number of his prior visits that planning on such short notice didn’t work well for me and invited him to shoot me an email when he made his plans.

Low carb diets were invented by a fat undertaker in the 19th century wanting to get slimmer. Since then every few decades it is renamed, recycled, and taken up again until people get sick of it. I think I lived through a few iterations of it.

I’ve seen a meme going around social media that there are more children in Texas with the measles than there are trans athletes in college. Apparently, parents don’t always know what is best for their children.

I got an MMR booster shot 10 years ago when I was planning a trip to Marin County, California. That was when the anti-vaxxers were rich mommy-bloggers.

Ok, it’s just one thing for now: misidentifying any container as “Tupperware.” How do you feel about me using the “Xerox machine” ?

The two aren’t exclusive.
