Can we find more peace in life, even if it means we cant say we have a real family? Are our true families actually our friends? Yes. No. Friends can be like family, but it doesn’t always happen. Friends might not be there for you when they have their own lives to take care of. Make no mistake, it is still better than being around relatives who are not a good match for you. Maybe your best bet is to have a well chosen spouse and some solid friendships you work at preserving.

Maybe the pandemic accelerated that. Being outdoors (unless you are in a packed crowd ) is the safest place to be in the pandemic ( hasn’t ended ). Walking, hiking, jogging, etc. all burn fat.

Seriously, I read a book about the history of fast food. McDonalds got started in the 1950s. I only remember Gino’s as a word from my childhood and I never heard of Big Boy.

I find the reverse happens with reboots I see. Over time when the name of a movie or series comes up my brain brings up the originals instead of the reboots.

There are a lot of pop rock classics that are covers of songs originally made by Afro American musicians from the 50s and early 60s. Most fans ( myself included ) have no idea of the existence of the originals.

Or the McDonald’s Big Mac is Gino’s Giant or Big Boy’s Double Decker. Some serious archaeology there.
