Related, the movie “The Gangs Of New York” had a powerful line I still remember: “The rich can always pay one half of the poor to kill the other half of the poor”. So true. Many of the American military joined up for the financial opportunities and they are often sent to put down rebellions by people who had enough of being poor.

/u/meowzerbowser I have to agree with the comment above. Powerful people are intentionally trying to make things worse for most of us. They will not stop on their own. Did you mean that after we fight back against those people ( the right wing ) things will eventually get better?

That is like saying Hitler was popular among Nazis. Astroturfing is a person with a financial interest in a turnout pretending to be Joe Average Social Media user trying to scare people away from something. I am Joe Average Social Media user. The article is about a trump voter who had her medication go out of financial reach because of tariffs.

One thing I’ve learned is that the people you were scared to swear around were also swearing when you weren’t around. When I was about 20 or so I was around my dad in his natural (work) environment for a few months, and I learned he cussed like it was breathing, after having tried to keep me from ever swearing. My late father was one of those parents who would be harsh on his kids for swearing and for saying bigoted things. The moment he would get stressed out driving he would light up with curse words and racial/ethnic pejoratives.
