the underlying metrics dont make me gaga but he has limited hard contact very well, which is wild because he hasnt had a lot of swing and miss at the highest level. the new curveball should play, and i think that would make it a solid 5 pitch mix for him. he also brought his velo up a tick from last year as people here have mentioned. i hope he makes it interesting. plus, i mean hes got a big league name to boot.

tbf the zone was huge that night. and beyond just the generous called strikes it made guys swing at anything that looked close out of his hand. and to pedros credit he took full advantage of it all.
