Do you have photos of the apartment after you moved all your things out? Without proof of the condition prior to moving in and post moving out its hard to defend yourself beyond normal wear and tear. Also you mention they illegally increased rent and lead in the walls, but did you contact anyone about that?

Check the lease. If her name isnt on there then there is a certain amount of time guests can stay at the apartment before it can cause issues with your landlord.

I would say best to speak with him and hope he can work out paying in multiple payments. Definitely sucks he is invoicing you 10 months at once but nothing in the lease prohibits that. Unfortunately you should have inquired about the utilities the first month you werent charged or withheld an estimated amount to eventually cover the bill.

Seems you are on the hook for the months of utilities you havent paid for and its due within 10 days per your lease
